About the Project
Restoring Dignity,
One Life at a Time
C.L.I.T.S (Community-Led Interventions Transforming Street families) is ASOH's innovative program addressing the complex challenges faced by street-connected children and families in urban areas across Kenya. This project recognises that street families require comprehensive, dignified, and community-driven solutions that address root causes rather than symptoms.
Through C.L.I.T.S, we provide mentorship, rehabilitation services, skills training, and family reunification support. The project emphasises community ownership and leadership, working with local leaders, social workers, and former street youth to create sustainable pathways off the streets.
The project takes a phased approach: outreach and relationship building, assessment and planning, rehabilitation and skills training, and finally reintegration and follow-up support.

C.L.I.T.S found me, but more importantly, they saw me — not as a problem but as a person with potential. Through their mentorship program, I learned carpentry and received counseling. Today, I have my own small workshop and I'm mentoring other young people in the program.
